		Από τους κύριους στόχος της Εθνικής Χαρτοθήκης είναι η δημιουργία ενός 
		καινοτομικού ηλεκτρονικού αρχείου χαρτών, επισκέψιμου και από το 
		Διαδίκτυο. Στο αρχείο αυτό καταχωρούνται οι χάρτες της συλλογής της <B>
		Εθνικής Χαρτοθήκης</B> , ιστορικής και σύγχρονης, αλλά παράλληλα <B>
		φιλοξενούνται</B> και χάρτες άλλων συλλογών, δημόσιων και ιδιωτικών, 
		μετά από ειδική συμφωνία με την Εθνική Χαρτοθήκη. Επίσης τεκμηριώνονται 
		και οι σημαντικότεροι χάρτες της <B>Ιστορίας της Χαρτογραφίας</B>, ώστε 
		να είναι δυνατή η άμεση ανεύρεσή τους από τους ενδιαφερόμενους μελετητές
