Google und die Bayerische
Staatsbibliothek haben heute in einer Pressemitteilung eine selten erfreuliche Ankündigung gemacht: 1 Million Buchtitel der Staatsbibliothek, für die keine Urheberrechte mehr beansprucht werden können, sollen bald bei <A title="Google Books" target="_blank" href="http://books.google.de/">Google Books</A>  verfügbar sein.

Die Titel sind dann also nicht nur im Volltext durchsuchbar, sondern können als "Vollständige Ansicht" in der eingescannten Version abgerufen werden. Bis allerdings alle Titel eingescannt und digitalisiert sind, dürfte noch einige Zeit vergehen. Doch das mindert den Wert dieses Geschenks in keiner Weise.
