I too have this issue.

I'm using Magento 1.3.1.

This problem often never occurs on my MacBook OS X using Safari or Mozilla, however its happening a great deal on Windows XP on any browser, even Chrome.

Please help as the Google stats show we're loosing clients!

...furthermore, I'm operating from an Amazon EC2 Cloud instance in the EU. However, the homepage redirecting problem is only happening on the Magento website.

OK, cool. I think I've fixed it.

Try turning off Validate REMOTE_ADDR in

system -> configuration -> web -> Session Validation Settings

Set this to 'No' and save your changes.

...worked for me!
