Sounds good, in a rather Socialistic type way. However I prefer to reserve the term "living" to things created by God as opposed to those created by man. Words are necessary tools of communication. As Society becomes more complex, we become more reliant upon them. They don't convey emotions very well. So we have to "read" into them the feelings behind the words. In the huff & puff story you clipped this from, the writer spoke of a long-distance phone conversation she had. Indeed such things would not be possible without words. I wouldn't have the opportunity to get to meet you without the internet, without words. So, words are Wonderful!!!
Words are also powerful. This makes them open to abu...

You know why I clipped this Chestnut? It's because I often spew forth obscene words without even thinking about it and I justify it by saying "it's just words." But it's not is it? Words have power don't they? Words can become weapons of mass destruction, and I realized that I should use my words much more carefully. That is not to say that some words shouldn't be used IMO, but I should not use them so indiscriminately.
I totally agree with you on your point about political correctness, and I have often felt that way living in the area I live in; restricted by that political correctness.

I'm sure that people who know you look beyond your words and see who you are. They probably see someone they like and if they don't....screw 'em
I grew up and lived most of my life in a "restricted" area myself. Now I live in a better area, with different restrictions. Hey, it's Halloween. I'm thinking of going out and stealing Obama signs. I wish I had a truck. I bet you have one though. Just think, you could probably get 3 McCain signs to my 1 Obama sign. Bummer!

How did you guess I had a truck Chestnut? And I drive a stick too
I went to a Halloween party last night and got dressed up in my devilish dress; everyone was dressed so cute! I hadn't seen the host's sister for about 10 years and to be honest I look different than I used to with a different hair color and style, etc., but she looks almost the same, and when I went through the door I saw her there and said "Oh, give me a hug", and she did and said "Nice to meet you" and I said (while removing my sunglasses) "Nice to meet you????" and she said "OMG, debby!" The remainder of the evening I keep looking at her and winking and saying every so often "Nice to meet you." It was funny.

I'm glad you had a good time last night, debbyski. You probably didn't even think about running down any McCain signs. The truck thing was just a quess, although I'v been told my perception is pretty good. I'm perceiving that if you see my last clip, you may block me. I hope not. But people have to do what they have to do. And about that "hope" clip, other people have hope too.

Strange and funny dialogue u two, i enjoyed reading.
Words only have the power we give it. Any arbitrary words turned into weapons can be easily defused.
Its just that people rely and give too much power to words.

Context plays a pretty huge role as words on thier own are pretty much useless.

Words can have very little power, or the most devastating power in the universe, depending on how they're used. McCain and Obama are using very powerful words in this election campaign. Obama is using words full of powers of healing and building, whereas the words that McCain, and Palin are using are better described as Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Which one do you really want as President of the US?

Hurt from words can last a lot longer than hurt from something physical .
