This movie was horrible.As a black person, imagine how I felt watching the very white, very scottish, non-greek, non-olive skinned very anglo 'greeks' kicking a black man down into a bottomless pit. And of the so-called vast 'Persian' army the only guy I see get beheaded is a black man (in slow motion). The white people are going to fight for freedom from slavery? If this is comic book fantasy and you made all the greeks played by actors that look like Wesley Snipes, people like 'Iconn' would be UP IN ARMS about how that is just inaccurate.

Oh sacred white males save the world from the marauding, deformed, homosexual, cowardly, valor-less non-human darkies. Even the white woman in the movie can't be as pure as the males because of course she has to try to advance her cause by spreading her legs. Isn't this the same queen who valiantly stood up to the evil black messenger? And yet she spreads her legs so easily for the white political rat.

The problem is the racism is so deeply embedded in the psyche, that you don't realize you're even making the choice to portray people so negatively. Its like reading a STOP sign.-you can't decide I'm going to read the sign or not, its Automatic. You can't help but read it. Racism is the same way. And this movie should have been called 'Birth of A Nation-300' and the subtitle should be how white males fight to save white women and children from evil darkies. HORRIBLE RACIST MOVIE

That being said, not all movies are for everyone, for obvious reasons. The movie was loosely based on some shreds of history, but mostly was fantasy and fiction. I have never been offended by people speaking with a 'British' accent in all the futuristic space movies, (even though I'm not British). This would imply that the only the British will make it into space and beyond.

Try to remember though, that movies, artwork, and even music are only that. I have seen artwork in galleries that totally disgusted me, but others seemed to love. It's only a movie. Hopefully it made some people think about things other than what it visually portrayed. (like it did for you)

Xerxes father had been humilated about 20 years earlier in the first Persian war when the Persians first tried to conquer Greece and the Athenians assisted the Ionian revolt against them and THAT caused the Persians to be in this battle against the Spartans so cheer and be merry you Angry Repressed Blackman, they WERE the aggressors, congratulations, you've found a point in history where the black man wasn't just a slave. The Spartans were defending their land, end of story.
