laceym says: Game Rules: All one need do is answer the following questions honestly and if one chooses, play the game with others and discuss your answers thoughtfully and with care.* Remember: This is a game--a thought game. You are merely thinking hypothetically how you determine your answers to the questions. You only have to think temporarily 'what if there is no god.' After you have answered the questions, consider how your thoughts and behaviors change or do not change based on whether you assume the existence of a god. IT'S ONLY A GAME!! Laugh! Learn! Be Happy! Pop pop poppity pop! Sadly laceym, as soon as people realize that they are actually asked to step outside of the beliefs for a moment to consider something then you've lost them. I wouldn't change. My conscience would still demand the same of me, even if God didn't exist. I don't know if conscience is given to me by God or evolution and it really doesn't matter to me. I would still try to do the right thing, just because it feels good and right to do so. Why, I don't know though. No God, one God, many Gods. Maybe we all are Gods. No-one knows for sure, but I do know we are all born with a conscience. (Well, except psychopaths etc of course.) Two of the absolute worst feelings I know of, are grief and having a bad conscience. Grief may be unavoidable, but a bad conscience isn't. On the other hand, one of the warmest, best feelings you will ever have is when you help someone else, be it an animal or a person or a tree even. If for no other reason than selfish ones, people should realise, that being a nice person is not only good for those you are nice to, but it's good for yourself too. Win / win!! God or not! Sadly laceym, as soon as people realize that they are actually asked to step outside of the beliefs for a moment to consider something then you've lost them.I tried at least, Oortcloud! *LOL* thisnamecantbetaken said:Unfortunately this escapes so many people. People really do believe that the only reason they do good is because god will punish them if they do not. How many times have you heard "If there were no god then what would stop me from slitting your throat right now?" (question asked to me on more than one occasion by 'Christians'). "If there were no god then what would stop me from slitting your throat right now?"This was said to me from one of my best friends. |
