It isn't the tax rate that makes Obama socialist. It's what he's doing with the money -- just handing it out to whomever HE decides is "deserving".

The rates are deceptive, as well, as the deductions were much different. At no point in American history has _anyone_ been paying 91% of their entire income. It's an apples and oranges comparison.

"My car's at 3000 RPM and yours is only at 2000 RPM, therefore I'm moving faster than you are." Well, no -- it doesn't quite work that way.

Actually, I think the top marginal rate was 94% at one time.

So let's take rush limbaugh and his $400,000,000 contract. $400,000,000 X .06 = $24,000,000

Actually its Congress who decides who gets the money. And all Presidents have done that? What makes Obama any different? That he is not spending it where you would it to be?

Not all presidents have done that. Far from it. There's a significant difference between taxes funding essential services such as roads and police, and taxes simply being taken from one group of people to write checks to another group.

Welfare at least goes to the very poor, who (theoretically) need it to survive.

The founder of "capitalism" was a commie. Karl Marx coined the term if I am not mistaken. It was his label for free market economy. I'm not sure capitalism in the truest sense and 'free market economy' are necessarily synonymous.
