It's going to suck. But it'll suck for longer (imo) if the US stays. The reason? Well, you have 3 main groups living in an area about twice the size of Idaho that hate each other a lot. You have outside influences pushing from all sides. The only time there has been relative peace in this area is when a dictator is ruling with an iron fist. It's not optimal, the minorities are taken advantage of/murdered, but as a whole, most people live a happy life. Without this dictatorial rule, the 3 side will continue to war until one has gained enough ground that they can suppress the others (and bring in a dictator/etc). The sooner the US gets out, the sooner this un-balancing act can take pla... As much as it sucks (the situation, not your opinion) - it does make sense. Personally, I have an alternate solution, but nobody would dare to try it, so... An ounce of common sense, which seems to be very uncommon, tells anyone that withdrawing will leave a void that will result in genocide, the complete undermining of America's credibility, and an explosion of violence in the ME that has never been seen before...and the *real* war will move onto our shores and into our lives. As much as I hate to say it, jatfla, perhaps that's the only thing that'll finally wake up the rest of America... nothing else seems to so far. I think it's largely due to complete lack of comprehension of what this war is, due to being completely separated from it. |
