zasel says: This scares me a bit. Fallon is leaving because of his differences with Bush on his Iran policies. Bush and his neo-cons, including Republican candidate McCain are proponents of military action against Iran. Petraeus also agrees with a tough Iran policy. It is too convenient for my comfort to know that months before Bush is finally to leave office, he is ridding himself of a general who does not favour his Iran policy with one who does. To me this stinks of the probability of war with Iran before the end of the Bush administration, and passing it on to the next president to deal with. |
