In other words, jobs that create the stuff you end up talking about as ultimately the "smart people" are those who disseminate new ideas via the media. (Albeit, tv, newspapers: arts & entertainment, opinion, comments and analysis etc...) You might call these people critics. The main point to remember is that the vast majority of people end up quoting these people. This makes me wonder about how many other jobs are out there that create attitudes, opinions and fashions? I think its always a good rule of thumb to keep a very close eye on where your attitudes and opinions come from. The next time you are asked your opinion on a topic, stop for a minute and ask yourself it is really your opinion? |
