thisnamecantbetaken says: CENTCOM Admiral William Fallon reportedly thwarted Cheney's wish to sent a third additional aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf. One paper wrote that he "vowed privately there would be no war against Iran as long as he was chief of CENTCOM."The whole article is worth a read. Watch out , Rush Limbaugh will be having a field day with these poor soldiers. Can you imagine what the history books will have to say about this country under this president, assuming we make it to 2030? Actually alot of this is SPIN as debunked by my earlier comments on the same tabloid article. Personal comments made by Fallon in May 2007 are now history as he has more recently stated that "Iran can't be ignored". Apparently what the military says "officially" may differ greatly from what they mean off the record, for various reasons. (Ambition, fear, etc.) Here's another interview with the same historian: http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,504865,00.html |
