I installed the toolbar and tested it today Rob. Though it has some good features (like sticky notes, blog integration etc.), I think it's way behind the functionality and elegance of Clipmarks. Diigo looked like a hybrid tool - something between del.icio.us and Clipmarks.

Thanks invictus. I too feel the same. I think when the clipmarks folks make their next release, I bet we will see even more changes that set Clipmarks a few light years ahead.

Guess we will see what the new changes bring.

I was one of the beta testers for diigo and I have to say it's an excellent tool.

The additional feature of posting to your del.icio.us account is great, but diigo is loaded with additional, more in-depth tools for research, note taking and collaboration with others. I'd say give it a test-drive of more than a day to fully appreciate the service.

Thanks for the post! ...and umm..no..LOL..I don't work for them.

Not discounting it jmackin. I do think it is a good tool. I was trying to say that it is not a competitor to clipmarks as I see it. I think it augments Clipmarks quite well.

I still have it installed and still kicking the tires on it.

I'm still having it installed too and I don't deny that it's a good tool jmackin. What I was trying to say was, Diigo looked having a quite different functionality than Clipmarks and does not have the features which made me a Clipmarks addict. In fact, Rob is right: these two tools are not competing and one can keep both of them for different needs or preferences. (But let's wait for the new Clipmarks - I'm sure our four friends are preparing much more exciting things for us )

What happens if you annotate a website that eventually goes down or moves behind a paywall?

jklugman ...It stores a copy of the page as it was when you were looking at it, so if the page changes, you’ve still got the version you were thinking of stored away

p.s. diigo was just featured/reviewed on techcrunch...
