It is unfortunate that there are police officers out there who do abuse their authority when there are others out there trying to do what they are there for, to protect. Power is not good for you; those who are given it need and should expect oversight. In a just society those given power should not only expect oversight they should welcome it. So true. I took a picture of 5 cops and 5 squad cars at a Go Mart who came because of 2 people fighting. The tactic is called "swarming", and detoured half the local police force on duty to one petty incident. I was at the store and took a picture on my cell phone, which greatly provoked one officer. He ran and asked his partner for his phone, and said "can I take your picture"? I got in my car and turned on the high beams toward him, the best way to say "no" without words. The principle is this: When you take a photo of a police officer on duty it is fine because he is at that time a public servant, accountable to the public, and not a private citizen then.
