kkcapricorn says: There are going to be some drastic changes in life forms on Earth. One of my brothers is a plant pathologist and alerted me of this impending problem. However it is not necessarily the end of the world. In some countries western crops like corn and wheat supplanted what had grown there for years for no other reason then western bias. Millet has been grown for years in Africa and is much more suited for the region. It is a grain that could be grown in the absence of wheat that is not resistant to ug-99. Millet has roughly the same protein content as wheat. Westerners would need to get used to flat bread though since Millet does not contain gluten and therefore is not good for raised bread. Tortillas anyone? Thanks for the info. This is one of the great things about Clipmarks - there is a wealth of information waiting to be tapped - from each other. |
