Now the "struggle," - the lobbying effort will move to the scope of this investigation...will this be narrow and limited, and investigate just the people who went too far, even beyond their orders...or will it lead to those who designed and authorized these programs....

At this moment in time, in the real world, there are only two (2) groups fighting for power who have a chance to win and gain elected political power: the Democrats and Republicans.

I've been in this debate before. Certainly a lot of reforms and positive changes can and should be made to allow for third parties and other voices but right now it's One or The Other. Dems or Republicans.

It's not a perfect world. Power is not as neat as we may like it, in fact, in many places it remains a brutal bloodbath or full of more bribery and corruption.

You say Obama is a Conservative Authoritarian!? Of course you realize nobody knows what you mean by that but if you find that helps you, okay.

I see him as a Centralist. Which he pretty much made clear in his campaign.

I'd add that he is a Dynamic Centralist...by which I mean he takes steps one at a time. You're not going to get the whole nine course meal or political change all at once....first will come the soup....then the salad....choice of dressing....etc.

He will then consider feedback and reactions and policies may shift.

He's good for our country. Republicans bad.

Did you look at the Political Compass clip? Obama is very clearly in the Moderate Conservative area of the political compass. It doesn't matter what the US's right-skewed political definitions say, compared to the universal political scale, he, like all the US Presidents that ever get in anymore are, generally, moderate conservatives. If you look at what he's done, certainly, he has done some centrist things, but he's also done a whole lot of conservative-oriented things under the radar, like extending the scope of the illegal Wiretapping. To call him a Centrist is a very big stretch of the imagination.

Personally, I don't want to either help, or hinder any US politician. What I want to do is uplift and empower the American Citizens, so they can take control of their country again; so that they can regain the freedoms and rights that they've lost, or never even had in the first place, like the Right to Privacy and the Right to Healthcare. The International Rights of the Person define a whole lot of rights that Americans DON'T have, and I think they should have them; like the Right to be Free of Tyranny (whether that tyrant be their government, or some guy next door who threatens them with a gun).

Yes, of course Republicans are bad. By definition, they are Radical Conservatives, and that's bad for any country, but Democrats aren't much better. The only reason they seem more "liberal" than Republicans is because they're not radicals. In fact, they are so non-radical that they seem to lack the passion and drive needed to make very real change, whether that be toward moderate conservatism, or the occasional burst of centralism. I have not seen any American president in the past 30 years do anything truly Liberal.

I want a Liberal, Progressive future for America, because that path leads to Liberty, Freedom and Prosperity for All, but I know it won't get that, so I hope for a truly Centrist future. Alas, even Obama still falls short of that.
