Lucky smilies. They do not suffer dental problems (so haven't developed a dentist phobia) and they can show us all variations of smile, grin and laughter. :lot:

Smiles are a consruct of Big Dentistry for PROFIT!
Before Hallmark nobody gave a damn about when you were born or if your mama died. Similarly before Big Dentistry, smiles were exrtemely rare and not so annoyingly omnipresent as today. Another result of the evils of capitalism.

Smiling is a plot by godless liberals and commies to prevent us from remembering that we should be god fearing christians. Smiling, like idle hands, is the devils workshop.

Hey, I got over the tofu. Work with me a little.
Anyway, remember, a smile is just a frown turned upside down.
Don't get played by a simple inversion.

I've noticed that Smiling at someone usually lightens their mood. Unless it's accompanied by 'Have a nice day'
True Smiles are contagious, fake smiles can be spotted.

You're in NYC what do you expect. If they think you are only weird then you're lucky.

Another reason for smiling

Anyway I found that:

Muscles involved in a "zygomatic" (i.e., genuine) smile:
Zygomaticus major and minor. These muscles pull up the corners of the mouth. They're bilateral (one set on either side of the face). Total number of muscles: 4.
Orbicularis oculi. One of these muscles encircles each eye and causes crinkling. Total: 2.
Levator labii superioris. Pulls up corner of lip and nose. Bilateral. Total: 2.
Levator a...

The thing about walking around smiling is that it cheapens smiling somewhat, and the response you get is reflexive. Saying and doing things that produce smiling as response to the substance of those things is of real value.

Not trying to wipe smiles off faces here, just thinking it through.

...and pass that happiness on. Someone who is not smiling is likely to need one given to them most of all.

there's a Tony Bennett song about the need to "Just Smile"

it goes something like this...
Smile though your heart is breaking...
Smile even though it's aching...
When there's a tear...
Ever so near...
You'll get by ...
If you just clip
