There are 3 Arguidos in the case. Kate and Gerry McCann and a man named Murat who reports indicate ASKED for Arguido status.

There have not been arrests to date because in the Portuguese system ALL investigation ends upon the arrest.

It is very complicated and has taken over a year to process the conflicting statements of the friends on holiday with the McCanns, to investigate the money trail and to get the forensics in place. British sniffer dogs alerted the McCann apartment, Kate's clothing and the Hire Car they used AFTER Maddie went missing.
