khamees says: There has always been talk of Israeli intransigence in Northern Iraq even before the American invasion in 2003. This shows exactly how Israel is an element of instability in the region. Sorry I missed these earlier posts. We've made connection now so keep them coming. Difficult to get any reaction concerning Israel. Iraq, Bush, US yes; Israel no. What flag is this? Irish green. This is the Egyptian flag of pre-1952 before the coup that ousted our King. I'd imagine that Nasser would not be high on uour list of friends. He, as you know, "along with Muhammad Naguib he led the Egyptian Revolution of 1952 which removed King Farouk I, heralding a new period industrialization in Egypt, and a profound advancement of Arab nationalism, including a short-lived union with Syria." I did know that the US did the dirt on Egypt on the Aswan Dam but didn't know they had a part in bring in Nasser. Certainly the UK, France and Israel would have been against such a move. Did Nasser not give the Arabs a pride that they had not previously? Your prospective on this period is obviously different than all the other parties from the West or Arabs, given that the victor writes the history but it should be clear that the ClipMarks community is not interested in t... |
