Actually there is quite a bit of sophisticated research on stress hormones, genetics and stress tolerance, stress and health, and more to suggest it can't be quite so simply dismissed. When you realize that the world around you is not dependent upon your survival you can live free of many of the stressors that you allow to dominate your mind. Worry is the silliest thing we do. If you can control your worries, you can control your stress. Physical stress also wears you down, the cure is usually SLEEP. Cumulative stress disorder and PTSD are of most interest to me. Ive done published research on post-traumatic stress. A life of stress often leads to the trama The key point of the clip, to me anyway, is that 'stress' covers myriad stressors and examples of stress. In sociopsychology, environmental stress includes toxic relationships, power structures, ideology, not to mention poverty and health. On the other hand, human beings need positive stressors (life enhancing ones) without which they shrivel up and atrophy.
