Excellent idea, hope they keep developing this kind of ideas to stop HIV which is one of the big factors of poverty in Africa.

Great idea, but the first thing that crossed my mind is how vulnerable a latex condom might be against the edge of sheet metal. It could easily be compromised if removed haphazardly.

The problem: condoms are only available in pharmacies and therefore rarely purchased, as people feel too ashamed to ask for them. The answer: the Coca Cola can – an affordable product for a large number of people – becomes the vehicle for selling condoms. In our modified Coca Cola cans, the concave can base carries the condom. For this the round edge of the can is compressed, the condom is placed in the center and a cap of sheet metal is pressed onto the edge.
