The design is the ultimate insult to their memories.</p> <P>It consists of a half-mile-wide mihrab. The central feature of all mosques, a mihrab is a crescent that points Muslims toward Mecca and the magic meteor there that savages still worship.</p> <P>The crescent design is no accident; like any mihrab, it is oriented toward Mecca.
