rachelw says: I saw parts of the documentary last night on Anderson Cooper, it's about the horrific treatment of dogs by Class B dog dealers, who buy and sell these dogs for medical research. It's an important documentary, and although it will be heartbreaking to watch, I hope everyone does. It's on HBO tonight at 10pm. Just so we can all be aware of and understand what these poor animals go through at the hands of these disgusting people and how important it is to have tougher animal rights laws. I am continually amazed by the atrocities human beings are capable of committing, either on other humans or on defenseless animals. Sometimes (actually a lot of the time lately) I am ashamed to be part of the human race. I saw this doc last night. very powerful and difficult to watch. I hope people see it and it helps make a difference. i don't think i have it in me to watch...i know that is so lame, but i don't think i could stomach it. I agree egoldstein, I do not think I could stomach this. It was pretty hard to stomach...and I don't blame either of you for not wanting to watch...I still think it's important that we acknowledge that these hideous acts go on and put pressure on those in power to do something about it...although, theres so MANY things that those in power need to do something about! i agree with your last comment-- sometimes hard to watch, but we shouldn't be naive into realizing that this awful treatment exists... the best thing we can do is give animals loving homes... I wish I could have adopted all those poor dogs I saw... whenever I see or hear about any animals needing a home, I just want to take them all in! But...I don't think the two cats we have at the moment would be very amused! I am trying to figure out how I can do more... |
