Thinking outside the box really pays off here.

I wonder if people would be too lazy to bend over to get their stuff. People are very lazy.

There is also the loss of usable space. An open door fridge allows shelves while a box like this would make getting to those left overs tricky because you'd have to pull everything out to get to it.

Not that its not a good idea for those who don't cram their fridge full of stuff and purchase by bulk to take advantage of sales.

Perhaps build a shelving unit inside the fridge, to keep frequently-used items near the top?
