Things are escalating so quickly. It really seems that Bush and co. have lost control of things and the rest of the world is rubbing it in.

Socialists are taking control all over the world.. even in Mexico.. it was pretty close .. capitalism in shrinking (failed WTO talks)...

and... Islamism is rising like never before in the middle east.. where the future of the west lies (the oil)...

thanks bush. Nobody would ever do a better job.

Wow, the Omnipotence of the Evil Emperor Chimp is a marvel, isn't it?
The way he is ably to so effectively manipulate the jihadis to do his bidding is remarkable.

Omnipotence... That's a funny way to spell incompetence. But that explains a lot about why there are so many problems too since, as we have been told, we have an omnipotent god.

Sorry, of course God is the main source of all our problems, Bush I guess comes in a close second.

Bush a close second to god, that about sums it up.

Yeah, now if you lefties who are on to this could just get Bush impeached, and kill off God --or more accurately, get rest of humanity to notice that y'all offed him in the sixties--the world could finally live in peace.

There you go with that "lefties" stuff again...

Sorry. You secular humanist pacifistic vegan criminal coddling terrorist excusing ever-appeasing socialists. I was just trying to be succinct.

This was a clip about two thugs....and somehow it quickly turned into a Bush and God-bashing session. Go figure.

and you wonder why i want to change the default sorting to include latest clips and pops but not comments!

it is one thing to opt in to sorting by latest comment but i think there is no way that it can continue to be the default setting.

Yeah, that obsessed Mr Colo, always injecting God into everything. So tedious.

No, but seriously folks, perhaps no one noticed that we were having a bit of fun.

"Maybe in the future we'll become an [arms] exporting country," Chavez said.
Oh goodie! Maybe they'll hire Ollie.

He'll buy from the Russians and then resell to Iran.

Since they're brothers now, does that mean chavez became a muslim? Or is ahmedinejad going to bed with infidels now?

BTW, does anyone know what's the deal with Jad restaurant?
Apparently, if you were to break the man's name - you get "ah", "me", "dine", "jad" and I was just wondering what is 'jad' therefore..

Sounds like an agenda to move the ideologically acceptable clips to the top. An army of poppers to diminish discourse and limit a minority view ( at least in this environment).

I think it's a wise decision. Instead of being contentious, you raise the bar up by popping and clipping. And they aren't taking away your rights to speak either.

Arifsali, I'm not surprised you would not see the inherent misrepresentation of differing viewpoints. I for one, usually do not place stock in popped clips. I find more interest in people's viewpoint and I think comments and the inclusion of various viewpoints increases the interest and dynamic of the clip. It also creates the opportunity for more involvement. I would not hate to think I would miss reading interesting clips and exchanges because they disappeared into clip heaven. As for my right to speak, I recognize I have no "rights" here, and that is as it should be.

@willhelm - I certainly appreciate your comments on the subject, but I think it's a very difficult thing to implement and I have no doubt that CM team wants nothing less than fair and most relevant way to show the clips... I just don't think it's simple to implement a perfect solution.

Whether you go based on POPs or comments - you lose either way, because all you have to do is have more people of one side in the audience (or more active ones) and that'll drive the ratings, not the content or its validity.

The only way to truly get best content to be more visible is to have someone determine what that content is. Where do you get the time or resources to have such people? And even if you...

I think both of you are missing one little point, that is, the clip goes all the way to the top when you make a comment (big or small). The CM team is trying to prevent just that: keep the comments in proper context and not reduce the intent of the middle window. I think those of us who like to speak ourselves and also wishes to see others speak as well, would be able to watch and comment at the same time, all by keeping things in better perspective (you follow what you comment on). I agree with RS that implementing such concepts are very difficult, but I would like to believe that the proposed solution certainly seems like the one which will make Clipmarks different from others and much better. I hoping for the best.

I stand with you on 'hoping for the best' sentiment and have absolutely no doubts about the intentions of the CM team, which certainly only makes things better as time evolves.
