This is where we should be spending money - improving the way of life - instead of building more war machines and blowing things up. Just my opinion of course.

An older phrase.... to make peace is to prepare for war.

DARPA has been working on and has grants for systems like this. Its old hat for them. From warfare comes some of the most brilliant (and marketable) inovations of mankind.
