One can break the voice down to 2 parts: the pure musical tonality or however one should put it, and the actual meaning intellectually of the words. While I don't have a hearing problem in general, I do have a hearing problem in deciphering the tonal nuances of the human voice in ordinary conversation and in music. Understanding the words in movies, TV, radio, is almost no problem, because those mediums usually are intent on clearly pronouncing each word etc. So I love the music and I love the voice as a musical instrument, but very much of the time, I cannot understand the words of the song even... In the late 70's I attended a concert with Rory Gallagher. During the concert he spotted a young guy playing air guitar and he invited him on stage and played a song with him. At the end of the concert, people were so excited, that he had to keep on playing. After three hours I left and he was still playing...  Thanks for your comment. I found it at 3 AM in the morning and decided to listen to the song. So sweet at the beginning and by the end the taste is still there but now I see what courage it takes to lift that cup ,to pull on that string, to play... |
