Even though 57% of Conservatives in Pennsylvania support civil-unions, the Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee still passed a proposed amendment to the state's Constitution that would ban same-sex marriage or civil-unions.

These Republicans cannot even fall back on the argument that they are respecting the wishes of their constituency, since the Conservatives in the state approve of civil-unions. This is just mean-spirited and hateful political posturing.
