I cannot stand talking to someone on IM or email when they type like that. That's why we take English in school.

I'm sure half the reason txt code is popular amongst kids, is because it's something that can be understood by others their age, while still leaving those they consider adults to be in the dark. Like with slang, to send messages that adults will not understand. Too often it's a substitute for clear language. Sure they can text, but they need to be able to communicate with those beside their group. Sometimes it seems pointless to make something harder to understand for the sake of a few characters. as they get older they are going to have to learn that sometimes a good command of the English language, or any language in particular is neccessary to say exactly what they mean, with the ability ...
