Apparently some women in this day and age still want to be oppressed.

I notice that they specify 'white' men and women. How nice.
You know, I think that only a weak, cowardly, small-minded man would find desirable and attractive a subservient woman.
This type of crap will often backfire on the men--where the 'leader' or 'patriarch' will often claim the 'right' to choose among the flock who he gets to de-virginize, or 'initiate' etc. Suddenly a woman they 'love' becomes communal property.
What a bunch of animals.

all men have better judgment than all women.
I don't agree that this God's intent. In any organization someone has the final say. How many people would agree that the business owner always has better judgment than people that report to him? How much chaos would there be if everyone had the final say? Unless it was unanimous, nothing would get accomplished.

I'm sure my opinion about this will be wildly unpopular on CM, but it bothers me that the idea of submission is so often misrepresented.

As this relationship is written in the Bible, the union of husband and wife in marriage represents the relationship between Christ and his church. The church submits to Chris...

Unfortunately this submission idea translates into an over-worked wife and mother. Even now men and some women have this idea of who does what chores. Women's work is in the house and child care. Men's is wage earner and yard work. To provide for the family more women work outside the home, but the housework and childcare are still mostly hers. Men work outside the home, yard work, anything done in the house is a favour. I've seen strong women slip into this patriarchal idea and it's not a pretty sight.

I firmly believe that these Bible passages were a direct result of King James hatred for his sister and her rise to power.

By declaring by both law and church doctrine, men's superiority, he was spitting on the grave of Elizabeth and furthering the money and power agenda of the crown and the church.

What disturbs me the most is that the political environments in which the "good book" was created and written are ignored. Yet these same people spit on other religions for their holy books.

Hi BNM
If I understand your comment, you are saying that the wife should have input in the decision making process, but the bottom line is the husband has the ultimate decision as head of the household, and if practiced correctly and in accordance with God's will, it will be be respectful of his wife.
My feeling is this. I've seen women grow up in my generation with definite expectations as to what their role was in society. I've seen women get married in order for a man to "take care of them." In fact, I do believe my mother was probably happy that I married a good provider. I remember going to an acquaintance's home and working outside with my husband and her husband helping them c...

@jorjor I read the first page. You should definitely make a clip of this. And if you don't want to Debby should. It would make an excellent companion clip to this one. It must be put out there.

My first husband was abusive and would blow all our money on coke and whores if I didn't take it first.

So glad God thinks I should have shut my mouth and let him smack me around, probably eventually kill me and destroy/starve my son.

There may be a god, but many religions and their minions are worthless.
