wildcat says: Does money buy happiness? It's sometimes said that scientists have found no relationship between money and happiness, but that's a myth, says University of Illinois psychologist Ed Diener. It hink in some ways yes, and in some ways no. Money CAN'T "buy happiness" in the sense that, even with all the money in the world, you still have problems: Illness, death, infidelity, arguments, etc. etc. However, when you have people who are generally pretty darn happy, outside of the everyday quibbles, and 95% of their problems stem from having very little money, then yes, money can most definitely "buy happiness." think about the things that money eliminates stress of...a home, cars, college tuition...i think money can often mean "peace of mind"- which can often lead to happiness. Yes. More is needed for 'peace of mine' like friendship, companionship etc., but not having to worry about where the money for your next bill comes from certainly makes life easier and more enjoyable. It definitely pays the bills. ARE HUMANS SMARTER THAN IT APPEARS! Does it really take money to survive? Air,food, love, and exploration are what we are programed for. Exploring the worlds, not living in the same rut everyday is in our blood. Can we gather the materials that we need together? Without tring to get over our freinds just to make a dollar. This makes no sense. How can we be so smart yet so stupid! If money makes you happy..... Where are your spouse's childern, family, freinds? What would make me happy if we came togehter and explored our minds. Many good minds have been destroyed over money and power! The real measure of your wealth is how much you'd be worth if you lost all your money. Very true, wildcat. |
