Get caught with more than that, and you face (small) fines or prison for larger quantities. Selling is strictly prohibited. DENMARK: illegal. I often wondered what is the real reason for busting pot smokers. All drugs aren't the same and some can certainly be poison but alcohol strikes me as more of a dangerous drug than pot. Is making it illegal a way on cracking down on social rebellion? Are they worried that people will get so stoned they will stop working? Will their desperate need for a 'fix,' drive them to crime? Will pot smokers turn wild and crazy and kill people? Will it rot your brain so when you turn senile you will be twice as senile? Will memory become so erased that folks will forget their names? These are the types of reasons I've heard. I think the 'old-fashioned,' idea of a crime being a crime is good, mea... (cont.) But if I wanted to smoke pot, sniff coke, stick a needle in my toes and hang upside down in my living room, swinging back and forth singing the Star Spangled Banner -- well, even that should be allowed: private and personal freedom. A society tends to grow fascist when it wants to control what songs people sing while swinging back and further, hanging from the ceiling in their own living room; or when society wants to control -- like it use to -- what goes on in the bed room; or, even worse, god knows' what people are doing on their computers and with their keyboards!
