David M Ewalt says: Is this an example of bad technology, or just a bad driver? Bad driver! Only an idiot would cross train tracks without looking both ways! Sheesh! Confucius say: "Man who stand in center of track never get side swipe" Bugs Bunny says: "What a Maroon!!" While I can understand the appeal of a GPS aid in a strange city, the automatic subservience people seem to fall into when using one is beyond me. The decisions (or lack thereof) which go into making foolish moves such as this dictated by a device are akin to the same behaviors which lead to backing up on Interstate ramps or making dangerous and illegal turns rather than correcting mistakes in a safe manner. People are too focused on their destinations and under time pressure to really think clearly about what they are doing. It certainly says something about the nature of the individual involved. GPS - Batteries are included, common sense isn't. As some people use to say: no brains - no worries! I'll go with the latter, answer B, bad driver.Even Mapquest say's to do a "reality check" when reading their directions. He's not a total idiot, at least he got out of the way before the train plowed into him. |
