Right now I have no credit cards or loans to pay off but I have been dealing with shut-off notices and hospital bills. When debt collectors call you and you have no money after utilities, what can you tell them? I forsee no cash windfalls in my future and no pay raises or money coming in. You tell them you have no money but they don't believe you or something. They keep calling. They sue - but there is nothing left to sue for. The only time they stop calling is when you can't pay your phone bill and it gets shut off. I feel sorry for the average person that has a mortgage, car payment and credit cards all maxed out. We are scraping up some more stuff for another yard sale to keep the u... I want to read other people's real life issues with living in today's society. Someone pop this or comment. I can't be the only one in this pickle. HEY...DON'T FEEL SO BAD. I HAVE TO LIVE ON LESS THAN $1200.00 A MONTH. BY THE TIME I PAY MY BILLS (RENT,UTILITIES) AND THEN BUY FOOD I HAVE NOTHING LEFT FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH. THANK GOD I DON'T HAVE A CAR. I ONLY TAKE CABS ONCE A MONTH. BUT BECAUSE OF THE GAS PXS THEY HAVE GONE UP TOO. THINGS MAY SEEM BLEAK NOW, BUT IT IT PROBABLY ONLY GET WORSE. IT MAKES ME WANT TO MOVE ONTO A FED. FOREST AREA AND SHOOT SQUIRRELS FOR FOOD. THAT WUD PISS THEM OFF,EH???LIVING "FREE" ONTHEIR LAND AND HUNTING THEIR SQUIRRELS????? I feel for ya! Hopefully this can help you some. I had an identity theft situation once and went through hell trying to fix things! It is a sad situation that many people are finding themselves in with rampant inflation of our very basic necessities, let alone ANY other bill that needs paid! http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation.shtml I know without a doubt what my problem is - Not enough money I hope things will brighten up for you skwirl.... I'm on permenant Social Assistance called DB2. It means I don't have to look for work because I am permanently disabled. I live on just over $10,000 a year and my rent just went up starting in June to $665 a month. I get an extra $500 a month from the government for looking after my grandchildren. The hours I put in with them means I make about $2 an hour. (my daughter's boy-friend thinks I should watch the children on demand because I'm making so much. I have two maxrd out credit cards and I try to be polite as possible to bill collectors before I hang up. I know what you're going through. Its a good thing the landlord has the health inspector in his pocket or I'd be homeless All the pennies in the piggy are gone I returned a pound of hamburger to get a gallon of milk My son gave me $120 and I got part of the phone(internet) and part of the electric bills paid on. A guy at work said I should try ebay but I am not interested in doing money transactions online. I had a bout of ID theft a couple years ago and it fairly cleaned me out. Tho I am past it now there is now way I can recover the money that was lost. Not trusting many people anymore. I don't know how populated it is where you are, but around here dogwalkers make big bucks from all the people who have to work three jobs to pay the mortgage. If you like to talk to people, you could consider mortgage underwriting; in some states, when you work for a company, there is a blanket license and you can work from home. I know it's the very industry that helped create this mortgage crisis, but that doesn't mean there isn't still money to be made - even when you are honest. 4418 is the population in the city limits. We are the county seat. I don't have a lot of patience with people in general. I used to live in a small town (pop. 3200), too, so I know how difficult it is to find viable employment. What about managing property for absentee owners? I certainly could use one... but my property (one acre) is "too small" for the locals to bother with. One guy wanted to charge me almost $900 to cut the grass! |
