arifsali, i appreciate your point of view, but in the world we live in today, having that picture plastered all over the web and all over the front page of newpsapers has the potential to raise fears in people about Obama. To deny that is wishful thinking in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with the picture itself, but the assumptions raised by it, especially among the more ignorant types, especially those who want to believe in the "secret Muslim" narrative downgrades this image from innocent to degrading. Ask yourself? What is the context of this picture and why did the Clinton campaign put it out there?

I'd see it as a diversity issue in America. If Americans are offended by looking at this picture then we have bigger problems to solve then just a political smear campaign. That is notwithstanding the fact why this picture is part of a controversy to being with (I'm not condoning what Clinton campaign has done here).

Obama's steam machine has gone beyond all these controversies, Clinton will be dropping out soon, so we just have to be careful how we play this game because soon enough, all these issues will be adopted by the Swiftboaters and these same issues will come back to haunt the democrats. BTW, no need telling but it has been excruciatingly painful to listen to left-leaning radio shows and all these left-leaning websites. They're fighting among themselves like a mad dog and I don't see how it is good for anyone let alone democratic process.

I agree with you 100%, arifsali. I was wondering the same thing myself when I saw the photo. It actually seems to me to be a bit endearing.
I think you must have a bad opinion of others if you are willing to say it was a low blow. I just wonder why Obama is so in tune with his worldliness, but not in tune with his American-ness.
