The more things change, the more they remain the same

All right!!! Maybe Anwar will be next and I was wondering if (I think it's BP) has started in the newly discovered reserve found off the coast of Texas. Florida, right now, is debating (again) the issue of drilling off our coasts. I'm all for it. Especially since the Chinese are slurping it up from our Gulf of Mexico.

Energy independence should be the heart's desire of every Congressman and State in America. And not through those silly light bulbs. It doesn't have to be achieved totally by means of drilling for oil but the environmentalists have *someone* against every option ever suggested except human extinction.

And when ALL the oil is used up, what then. Oil takes a long time to form. Think about it, it's a fossil-fuel. this stuff took thousands of years to form.
There are only so many gallons of oil in the Earth, once it's gone it's gone.
Isn't it more prudent to chose energy supplies that will either last longer or are renewable. Plan ahead.

Human extinction? I thought trying to budget energy sources and resources for the future generations to use would be trying to prevent that.

Of course, the Oprompter Administration will stop this act of trying to actually become energy independent. They need to spend billions of bucks they don't have on windmills and methane gas reclamation from cows.
