The Republicans are just as pathetic today, as they were a week ago. Americans are just saying that they're disgusted with both parties, and local issues mean more to them than party affiliations.

But I suppose if the GOP don't have their delusions, they've got nothing whatsoever.

For whatever failures conservatives have had in the past, they still did better than liberals would have done. The only time Republicans went wrong was when they lost sight of true conservative values like fiscal discipline and spending restraint. All Republicans have to do to make things right is return to their core principles. Liberals have a bigger problem: they don't even know what their core principles are.

Conservatives have been doing wrong since WWII. Or didn't you pay attention to the Wall Street Crash that Reagan's legacy of irresponsible cuts to regulation caused? The only reason the so-called "liberals" (actually, moderate conservatives) have been ineffective at all is because they bend over backwards to accommodate the lunatic fringe of the conservative movement. Liberals have no problem in knowing what their core values is. The problem is, there are precious few liberals in American government — as in only a handful. Both American political parties are solidly conservative. Honest, Clip, you wouldn't know a liberal from a hole in the wall.
