Mark Sanford has been claiming that he would reject the stimulus money alltogether, but he recently sent a letter to President Obama asking for permission to spend the money on State Debt, instead. Obama rejected this action because he claimed he did not have the authority to alter the statutes of the bill. All of that is fine and dandy, and I’ve no problem with either side of the exchange.
