This is very accurate. I live in Finland and speak only English.

Although Finns are ready enough to criticize their own country, they do not necessarily wish to hear visitors doing so.

♥ I love the Finnish demureness. ♥ I love the Finnish language. ♥ I love Suomi's lakes. ♥ I love Karjala. ♥ I love Ahvenanmaa. ♥ I love kantele music. ♥ I love Finnish folksongs. ♥ I adore Sibelius. ♥ I love rinkeli.

"Surviving a visit to Finland" is not too difficult in case you don't encounter too many mäkärät (esp. in Lapland). Compared to them, gnats are benign. (Tip: eat lots of garlick and aestivate on a lake where a breeze breezes, not on the lakeside!)
