bookchick49 says: "But she added: "We do not advise that people in the UK take up drinking cocoa in high quantities in order to protect their hearts."" The Whine: What I don't understand is how much research REALLY needs to be done with this much living proof? Maybe 'grant' dollars has something to do with that?! It never ceases to amaze me how much the medical profession really believes it could stand to loose in dollars when it feels threatened with a valid natural remedy. i grew up drinking cocoa of this kind [freshly ground] as they were in abundance in my hometown. however, i wasn't spared of high blood pressure which i suffer now. obviously, it runs in the family. as what the researchers had observed, it is beneficial to some while for others, there are many things to be considered. following blindly because the study says so is dangerous. as exhibited by medicines that go trials and researched, still, it is not safe to say it's 100% safe for everyone. for the cocoa drink, i think taken in moderation would be ideal unlike the natives of Panama who drank 40 cups per week. |
