The Large Hadron Generator (LHC) , at CERN. will become the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator. Its main purpose is to explore the validity and limitations of the standard model, the current theoretical picture for particle physics.
Concerns, however, have been raised regarding the safety of the LHC on the grounds that it might produce dangerous phenomena, including micro black holes.
