This guy is doing just exactly what sooo many other non-believers do; he is reading into a belief in religion just what he wants to, & acting like believers are nuts. I AM NOT a religious fanatic; but, I do love God & I do (like countless others) believe that Christ was the Messiah. Although I have to give him one thing; NO I don't believe that anyone who is atheist will EVER be President! And although he is, as you are, allowed your own opinion, I am PROUD to be an American who is a believer, & am comforted to know that nobody who is atheist will EVER run this country. And you can make of that whatever you want. oh, but you see dma you are definitely a fanatic despite your , all CAPS protesting. you are so proud that someone who disagrees with your fantasy/authority figure will never "run" this country. that's great, someone who is a rational, modern human being is precluded outright for being smarter and more humanistic than a bunch of first century, superstitious, desert dwellers! great ! that explains a lot of our current situation. blah, blah, blah. and i made sure that this was all small characters, so maybe you would not be so offended. no, not offended. just incredulous that so many can't get past their childhood indoctrinations and go ahead and face up to a scary, awesome, beautiful universe out there, that doesn't punish or reward. that's all..... And who is the fanatic that you can't allow that just because someone believes in Christ as Messiah, that they can not only face up to, and enjoy those things, but be thankful to God for them; no matter how scary or beautiful they are. I allow that you do not believe; maybe you were brought up that way (I don't know). And, I don't think that God does his punishing or rewarding in this life; that comes after. You don't go to Heaven for the good deeds you do. You go to Heaven for believing that Christ was the son of God and his blood was spilled to take you sins. And, if you are incredulous of that, well I'm sorry; you believe what you want, and let others have their beliefs. Can you do ... I am a Christian and I am against using religion as a political tool to "promote" people to state positions. I believe Pat Condell is right about how Americans are making symbols and rituals with Jesus and all kinds of millennium(end of days) thinking. Why cant they get them self a real President? I am all for America, just like Condell. Peace  I do disagree with the whole "European Republic of Islam" thing, but thats a story for another day. Absolutely spot on!! You mean Muslims and by enlarge I don't think their trying to "impose" themselves on Europe, although certainly you have divergence of cultures there. In some places like Spain, governments are taking positive steps to ease assimilation while respecting the cultural values of the immigrants, but in places like France, fear of the immigrants is driving the government to absurd lengths, such as banning head scarves.
