Yet again, Google buys another software suite in order to compete in a market that doesn't directly involve search engines or search related tools.

I haven't quite made up my mind on whether this is good news or bad news.

On one hand, more competition in the self-hosted blog software market is always a good thing and can only help make the tools we use better through that competition.

On the other hand, while I realize that there is money to be made in this deal, doesn't anyone else think that Google is getting close to over-diversification with all their non search engine related purchases over the past several years?
