merrie says: leads to other questions about elitism, ethics, public health and the insufferable phoniness that plagues politics and politicians. [end narco-news report] Can you believe the latest scandal over Sarah Palin? She installed a tanning bed in the governor's mansion and -- what's worse -- she paid for the contraption with her own money! The latest scandal over Sarah Palin was first reported by a couple of left-wing nuts at Narco News, an online publicaton that in the past I've seen putting out pro-Hugo Chavez propaganda. Here's the spin on the tanning bed scandal from Narco News: "A politician emerges, we are told, from humble roots and pledges to restore America’s small town family values and represent the common man and woman." And yet all along, the story continues, she's using a tanning bed! It's all on par, according to NarcoNews, with John Edward's $400 haircut! Assuming Edwards gets his hair cut once a month, you would buy a tanning bed for as little as what he spends on hair cuts in a quarter. Seriously, I have known people with tanning beds in theri home. You can get one for less than it costs to install an above ground pool and the maintenance is much cheaper. This whole thing is just silly. They really aren't expensive and it's her money anyway, so why is that anyone's business? They can't find anything else to attack or snark at except a tanning bed and lipstick?? I'm certain, if this is the kind of information these *journalists* are looking for, there are fuller fields elsewhere among the politicals across the Country. Does Biden artificially whiten his teeth? Did Pelosi really have a face-lift? I want to KNOW as I stand in the grocery line. :~( Good grief! Much as I don't like Palin, this particular story is overblown. If she used her own $$, then it's a non-issue. Not too mention, she cut the mansion staff, including the chef. She doesn't even stay in Juneau most nights. And many people in Alaska have tanning beds or full spectrum lighting. We live in darkness for about 4 months and it wreaks havoc on ones mental state. "We live in darkness for about 4 months and it wreaks havoc on ones mental state." -- Ah-HAH! That sounds like a great new ad. Well, not quite. From my understanding, the chef was simply reassigned to the Republican state legislature to cook gourmet meals in their legislative lounge. Does Biden artificially whiten his teeth? It's not necessary to whiten crowns. |
