Though each of these excerpts made me laugh out loud, they are from of an interesting article that discusses the possibility that Facebook may have seen its best days and that its demise may be forthcoming...some excellent insight into the nuances of the user experience.

I guess it depends what you're on there for, facebook to me is where I catch up with friends, twitter isn't so personal and more informative.

over the last year and a half that i have ventured in and out of facebook, ive come to note that facebook is more of an activist, singles, and personal social site. Not best for marketing of course, unless you're bing. then u can pay for advertising, lead ur customers 2 ur door, forget they are there & watch them retort to the evil one? #google

Quite correct! I am on there for professional networking (our office team is there) and keeping in touch with relatives, and my husband is using it to coordinate geneology information with family members all over the country.

@wiccontexan, what a wonderful idea re the genealogy. I've been connecting with friends from states in which I use to live; and friends I went to school with because of an upcoming reunion. Beyond that, I hadn't thought of other options. Thanks for the genealogy idea.

I find Facebook to be well . . . silly. I mean, who wants all those ridiculous apps, not to mention privacy issues.

Sometimes with Facebook it's the only way I know what some of my relatives are doing. Also I use it to share pictures with my family and friends.

Twitter's going the way of the dinosaurs. There's no way to financially support it. When the creators get tired of giving away the service for free, they're going to find that only an obsessive few are going to be willing to actually pay for the service, and with only a few accessing it, it will utterly defeat the purpose of Twitter.

Like they say, only Twits use Twitter.

FB [retty good, I think - you just use what you like, surely ?
Twitter can be OK, but misuse, like the Iran thing, is a bit of a turn-off.
