This should be top news. With all the bad news coming out of Iraq, this needs to be screamed from the rooftops! These are the good changes our troops see.

Oh yeah this really is great. Never a war nor a natural disaster that some cannot make a bundle from.

They despise capitalism altogether and twist all things to their own delusional thinking.
Example:This person distorts Iraq's economy thriving in the face of the worst adverse conditions as being a result of and stemming FROM those conditions thereby making it all evil.
Rather than seeing the hearty vine growing and thriving in dead soil with little water or light, the vine is evil because the conditions are bad.
These guys will so pretentiously and pompously pursue this line it is truly wonderful that I do not associate with anyone like that in my life.

Socratoad made an entirely reasonable point--economic growth isn't necessarily an end in and of itself. If companies selling guns and security services are the ones making up this economic growth that is not reassuring. If the boom in consumer goods is mostly driven by the consumption patterns of a minority high-income Iraqis that is not reassuring either. In fact, the article this came from suggests as much:
