He sure sounds like a smart guy, but not a very nice guy. Even amongst eccentrics, he sounds pretty weird, and in a bad position. The Wikipedia article states he's "... currently jobless, living with his mother in St Petersburg." Sounds like he could use some cheering up; maybe he didn't take the money prize for his own reasons (seems like he regards himself to have a high priority on honesty), but he could've given it to someone who would've appreciated it.
